Truck plows into physical therapy office in Redford Township

Nobody was hurt in the incident

REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A pickup truck, driven by a man, careened down Telegraph Road, colliding with a utility pole near 5 Mile Road.

The vehicle then plowed into the Athletico Physical Therapy practice, a local establishment in a Redford Township strip mall, causing immediate disruption to the community.

AJ Norman was in the hookah establishment next door when it hit on Monday (May 6) afternoon.

“It got me up out of my seat, it was a little scary, to be honest,” said Norman.

The truck stopped right in the middle of Athletico, and customers were inside. Somehow, nobody was hurt.

Windows were shattered, equipment was crushed, and a tire remained in the middle of the business.

The truck driver got out, and witnesses told Local 4 that there wasn’t a scratch on him.

Laura Carmichael and her friends were walking across the parking lot when the truck came straight at them. No one saw the driver attempt to brake.

“This is the craziest thing I’ve ever seen in my life,” said Carmichael. “It was intense. Me and my brother were literally shaking. It was insane.”

Redford Township police are investigating, and alcohol was likely a factor.
