12 people arrested in Macomb County human trafficking operation

The Macomb County Sheriff’s Department, along with the FBI and United States Customs and Border Patrol, raided two so-called spas and two homes Wednesday, all in Macomb County.

They say both spas were fronts for what they believe was a human trafficking operation. 

The first was the 25 Health Spa on Shelby Road in Shelby Township.

The second is on Mound Road in Sterling Heights called Healing Plus Spa.

Both have cloudy film over the doors and look unkempt. The two homes raided were in Macomb and Shelby townships.

In total, 12 people have been taken into custody. United States Customs and Border Patrol have six, and the sheriff has another six in custody.
