Southfield babysitter to stand trial for murder in death of 3-year-old girl
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – A grieving mother took the stand in court Wednesday, July 31, in hopes of sending her former friend and babysitter to trial for murder.
Paris England told the judge about the final days of her 3-year-old daughter’s life. Harmoni Henderson died in March from blunt force trauma to the head.
Her babysitter, Iesha Harris, is accused of leaving Harmoni alone in a bedroom for three hours as she smoked marijuana. She reportedly became enraged when she found the toddler had thrown up on herself . Prosecutors claim Harris, poured scalding water on the little girl and hit her head against a bathtub.
The defense argued some of the injuries were accidental and attempted to get charges lowered.
The judge ruled there was enough to send Harris to trial on felony murder and first-degree child abuse.
