Livestream: Authorities to release update on unsolved murder of Detroit neurosurgeon Body found wrapped in home’s attic in April 2023
DETROIT – Officials will be holding a press conference Wednesday, Aug. 7, to share updates on the investigation into the 2023 murder of a well-known neurosurgeon at Ascension Hospital.
Dr. Devon Hoover was shot several times in the head at his house in Detroit’s Boston Edison District on April 23, 2023. Police found Hoover’s body wrapped in a sheet in the attic, and said the killer carried the body there.
Police do not believe his death was random.
Since Hoover’s death, there have been few known leads and no arrests. One person of interest was taken into custody shortly after the shooting but was released on May 2, 2023.
The press conference is expected to start at 11 a.m. It can be watched live in the video player above.
