This project will serve more than 5,000 residents and increase the system’s capacity to handle up to a 10-year storm event.
The first increment of this grant, $692,084, will support the design and engineering portion of the application to provide data that meets Hazard Mitigation Assistance guidelines.
FEMA will also provide an initial $4,950 in sub-recipient management costs to assist the city in managing this grant.
HMGP funds state, local, tribal, and territorial governments to implement long-term hazard mitigation measures following a presidentially declared disaster.
FEMA will pay 70% of the $32,168,579.99 eligible project cost for this project.
The remaining 30% of the funds, $9,680,342.28, will be provided by Southgate.
