DETROIT – A crew of thieves is actively targeting newer Dodge Ram pickup trucks on Detroit’s east side.
Police said on Tuesday (March 4) that the people were stealing infotainment systems and other valuables from inside the trucks.
Anita, which is on both sides of I-94 in Harper Woods, was targeted Tuesday at 2 a.m.
Residents are advised to lock their vehicles and avoid leaving valuables visible through the windows.
If possible, officials warn residents to secure their vehicles in a garage or fenced yard.
Police are also asking residents to keep exterior house lights on and monitor surveillance systems to help deter theft.
Officials also suggest not leaving your guns in your car overnight as it is not a safe place to store them.
