ORLANDO, Fla. – Local nonprofit Jay’s Juniors is again accepting nominations to send Metro Detroit families with children fighting life-altering or life-threatening conditions on a memorable vacation to Disney World.
Selected families will get the opportunity to visit the park as a group Dec. 1-5, 2026, with all expenses paid.

Detroit television and radio host Jay Towers, who founded the nonprofit in 2014, says the goal of the program is to give sick children and their families a much-needed respite from doctors’ visits, treatments, and long hospital stays in exchange for a magical experience they won’t soon forget.
“One of the greatest gifts we can give these children, and their families, is time together without the weight of everyday worries,” Towers said in a news release. “Watching them make new memories, share laughter, and enjoy experiences they may never have imagined, is the reason why I started Jay’s Juniors.”
The 5-day, 4-night experience in Orlando, Florida, includes airfare, airport parking, hotel rooms at the Disney resorts, park admission tickets and activations, ground transportation, food and spending money.
Nominations can be made through Oct. 18 for families that fit the following criteria:
- Nominated child must be age 3-17 (at the time of the trip)
- Must be diagnosed with a chronic or terminal illness, an impairment from a birth defect or physical challenge
- Must reside in the WNIC listening area
- Must show a financial need (otherwise unable to afford the trip)
