OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – The Oakland County Prosecutor charged the suspect accused of killing one and injuring two in Oxford on Christmas Eve as a habitual offender in hopes of enhancing his sentence if convicted.
Prosecutor Karen McDonald charged Malik Webb, 30, with open murder and multiple other counts as a “super habitual offender” to ensure he would get a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years if he is convicted.

On Dec. 24, 2024, Webb was on his way home to Flint from a Christmas party when he crashed on Ray Road between Lapeer and N. Oxford roads. His car went into a ditch.
According to prosecutors, 71-year-old Dr. Barbara Wolf pulled over to try to help him. Instead, Wedd allegedly fired 30 rounds, killing Wolf. Her daughter and another man who stopped to help were also injured.
Webb also allegedly tried to carjack a 39-year-old woman while holding a gun to her head.
“The victims in this case were literal Good Samaritans, terrorized simply for trying to be helpful,” said McDonald. “This defendant has served multiple sentences for past gun crimes. We cannot allow repeat violent offenders to continue endangering our communities. Enough is enough.”
According to McDonald, Webb was previously convicted of carrying a concealed weapon in 2015 and 2018, as well as a prisoner possessing weapons charge in 2020.
His preliminary examination was held on March 28, 2025, where a judge ruled that there was enough evidence for Webb to stand trial for the triple shooting.
A pre-trial conference is scheduled for May 13 in Oakland County Circuit Court.
