EASTPOINTE, Mich. – A 35-year-old man from Detroit was killed in Eastpointe after being struck by two different vehicles on I-94.
It happened near 10 Mile Road at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday, May 1.

According to authorities, a 35-year-old man from Detroit was involved in a single-vehicle crash in the westbound lanes, leading to him getting out on the left shoulder. Police said another driver lost control of their vehicle, drove off the freeway and onto the shoulder and struck the man, knocking him into I-94, where he was hit by a second vehicle.
The man died from his injuries.
The first driver, a 30-year-old man from Detroit, was arrested on suspicion of operating while intoxicated. The other driver was released from the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
Michigan State Police are urging residents to stay inside their vehicles with a seat belt buckled in the event of an emergency.
