Suspect in deadly Oakland County drive-by shooting denied bond

PONTIAC, Mich. – A 32-year-old man from Pontiac is facing murder charges after a fatal drive-by shooting.

It happened just after 4 p.m. on Friday, June 13, near Auburn Avenue and Russell Street in Pontiac.

Witnesses told authorities that a man in a gray car fired several shots before heading west.

First responders found Thomas Jerrell Washington, a 26-year-old from Auburn Hills, with gunshot wounds to his wrist, torso and back. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Tremaine Jevon Love was reportedly arrested in West Bloomfield Township within hours of the shooting. He was charged with first-degree murder, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and two counts of felony firearm.

He was denied bond.

If convicted, Love faces the possibility of spending the rest of his life in prison.
