DETROIT – A Michigan State Police helicopter helped locate and apprehend people believed to be connected to a string of pharmacy break-ins across Metro Detroit.

According to authorities, the helicopter was requested to assist a multi-jurisdictional task force investigating the break-ins. On Wednesday, June 25, just before midnight, the helicopter observed a pharmacy in Farmington Hills being broken into. Police on the ground apprehended three suspects inside the pharmacy, while the helicopter pursued a fourth who took off in a vehicle toward Detroit.

Just before 12:15 a.m., the driver exited the vehicle on Detroit’s west side and attempted to run on foot, but the helicopter was able to track the suspect.
