Fiber line damage leads to Xfinity service disruption in Detroit neighborhood

Xfinity said it appreciates customers’ patience during this process

DETROIT – Fiber line damage has led to Xfinity service disruption in a Detroit neighborhood.

The outage occurred on Monday (July 7) around 11:30 a.m. when police said a truck pulled down the fiber lines crossing above the road on Oakman Boulevard.

While the exact number of affected customers is unknown, crews are working to restore service in the impacted areas.

Xfinity stated that some customers should see service restored within the hour, with full restoration expected to be completed by the evening.

Teams are working quickly to complete repairs and get everyone back online as soon as possible.

Xfinity said it appreciates customers’ patience during this process.

Xfinity stated that the customer’s address no longer shows an outage, but service has not been restored.

Resetting devices such as wireless gateways, modems, routers, or TV boxes is recommended.
