STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – Border Patrol agents in Detroit reportedly arrested a member of MS-13 over the weekend.
According to authorities, two people from El Salvador were taken into custody Sunday, July 6, after an altercation at a Sterling Heights hotel. U.S. Customs and Border Protection said one of the men claimed to be a member of Mara Salvatrucha and had spent 20 years in prison for murder.

Record checks allegedly showed that neither man was in the country legally.
A small amount of crystal methamphetamine was also seized.
Both men are being processed for removal from the country.
