6-year-old killed in shooting on Detroit’s east side

No arrests made

DETROIT – A tragic shooting Sunday night in Detroit on Anglin Street where a 6-year-old boy died inside his home due to a stray bullet.

No arrests have been made.

According to Detroit Police Chief Todd Bettison, law enforcement is searching for multiple vehicles believed to be involved in the incident. These vehicles were reportedly exchanging gunfire.

The child’s identity has not been disclosed as the investigation continues.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and help bring those responsible to justice. Chief Bettison made a direct appeal to the perpetrators and witnesses to cooperate with the investigation, emphasizing the profound loss caused by the shooting.

He stated, “If you were not the shooter, now is the time to tell us who was, because a young life was taken.”
