2 dead, 1 in custody after shooting on Detroit’s east side, police say Gun found at shooting scene
DETROIT – Two people are dead and one has been taken into custody after a shooting on Detroit’s east side, police said.
The shooting happened around 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, in the 3800 block of Bewick Street, which is in the area of Mack and McClellan avenues.
Police said two people were killed.
One person was taken into custody for questioning, and police said they found a gun at the scene.
Aerial footage shows that police have roped off the street and are investigating the scene.
