2 men charged for alleged roles in Wayne County chop shop operation

WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – Two men were charged for their alleged roles in a chop shop operation in Wayne County.

Mohamad El-Hadi, a 41-year-old from Canton Township, and Dani Mourad, a 44-year-old from Dearborn Heights, are accused of disposing of stolen cars at their business.

El-Hadi, the owner of Hadi’s Cash for Cars, was charged with one count of operating a chop shop and three counts of receiving and concealing a stolen motor vehicle.

Mourad, an employee at Hadi’s Cash for Cars, was charged with one count of receiving and concealing a stolen motor vehicle.

El-Hadi is accused of operating a chop shop where at least three cars reported stolen were found crushed in the company’s tow yard.

Mourad is accused of picking up at least one of the stolen cars.

El-Hadi was arraigned on Aug. 7 and was given a $25,000 personal recognizance bond. Mourad was arraigned on Aug. 8 and was given a $15,000 personal recognizance bond.

Both are scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 18.
