Police said Maki was booked at the East Alton Police Department, interviewed, and remanded to the Madison County Jail pending felony charges.

On Sept. 8, 2025, the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office formally charged Maki with 11 counts of making a terrorist threat, a Class X felony.

Meanwhile, Austin Blair, who was previously detained in connection with the case, was released from custody after his formal detention hearing.

At this time, Maki remains in custody at the Madison County Jail pending further disposition of his charges.

Officials remind that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The charges were issued based on probable cause, not proof of guilt.
