TRENTON, Mich. – Victory Day pairs football players and kids with disabilities for an unforgettable game.
A Trenton teacher and football coach started the event after battling cancer multiple times. Fifteen years later, Victory Day is celebrated across the country.
With all the pomp and pageantry of a football game, these special players were in it to win it.
Fourteen downriver high school football teams joined forces Saturday morning for Victory Day.
Seventy children with disabilities from across Metro Detroit stole the show.
Aaron Segedi launched Victory Day 15 years ago. After battling cancer and receiving a liver transplant, the middle school science teacher and former football coach wanted to give back.
