The two-car crash happened in the 2100 block of Gratiot at around 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 6.

The car Long-Hardon was riding in then crashed into Avenue Grill Restaurant.

Police said Long-Hardon died from her injuries. A man involved in the crash was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries.

“She inspired everybody that she encountered, she motivated (people) no matter what they wanted to do,” Long-Hardon’s mother, Charlene Peoples, said at the vigil. “She was always helping and loving and teaching and just pushing and inspiring.”

Armani Greathouse, Long-Hardon’s son, expressed gratitude for the lessons his mother left for him and his siblings.

“She taught us everything,” Greathouse said. “She showed us to just be good men.”

Long-Hardon’s family has set up a GoFundMe to cover the cost of the funeral and other expenses.
