Child custody dispute ends in deadly shooting in Detroit

A child custody dispute turned deadly Sunday afternoon, leaving one man dead and another injured in Detroit.

Police said a man fatally shot his child’s mother’s fiancé during the confrontation, which occurred around 4:15 p.m. on Delaware Street, between 3rd Avenue and Bethune Court.

After the shooting, a male witness fired at the shooter, police said.

Police said the shooter was injured and is now in police custody at a local hospital.
