DETROIT – A Greektown restaurant for more than 15 years is temporarily closed.
Redsmoke Barbecue on Monroe St. posted on their website that it’s temporarily closed. The site doesn’t give a reason for the temporary closure. It does mention that the restaurant is hiring for a variety of positions, including server, bartender, host, dishwasher, prep cook, line cook and kitchen manager.
Redsmoke is located near the east end of Greektown. The neighborhood is currently undergoing a $20 million streetscape project.
Redsmoke, which opened in 2010, is owned by longtime businessman Tasso Teftsis. Teftsis also owns Astoria Pastry Shop which is still open.
