Doctor sentenced to 5 years’ probation, consecutive weekends in jail in Macomb County assault case

He was charged as a habitual offender

MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – Detroit doctor Stephen Bruce Mason was sentenced to five years’ probation and weekend jail in a Macomb County assault case.

Mason was sentenced on Thursday (Oct. 30) on two counts and is expected to serve his time on consecutive weekends starting on Halloween at 6 p.m.

Court documents revealed that he would be released on Sunday morning.

Count one: Five years’ probation and 30 days in Macomb County Jail, with one day credited.

Count two: Six months probation and one day in Macomb County Jail, with one day credited.

A jury found Mason guilty of indecent exposure and assaulting an elderly woman.

According to authorities, Mason befriended a 76-year-old woman online and went to her Sterling Heights home, where he made sexual advances that she rejected.

He then reportedly masturbated in front of her.

On Wednesday, Sept. 10, Mason was convicted of assault and aggravated indecent exposure after a two-day trial.

He was charged as a habitual offender.
