OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – Farmington Public Schools announced the district will be closed on Friday, Nov. 7, due to unexpected fiber line damage caused by a nearby car crash.
The damage disrupted parts of the district’s network, including internet and phone services, which are vital for instruction, communication, and safety.
Repair crews are working to restore service as quickly as possible.
The district said it will provide updates once the issue is resolved and notify families when school operations can safely resume.
They thanked families for their understanding and patience, acknowledged that last-minute changes are difficult, and expressed how much they will miss their learners.
