Suspect in custody after Pontiac man killed in shooting, police say

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – A 41-year-old Waterford Township man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a Pontiac man, officials said.

The shooting happened just after 6 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025.

Deputies received a report about a shooting in 80 block of Wall Street.

“The caller reported discovering a bullet hole through the back door of a residence, but there were no injuries,” according to a release from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

When deputies were responding to this shooting report, several more 911 calls were made, with people reporting similar incidents.

This included that a man had been shot in the 200 block of Osmun Street.

When deputies arrived at that location, they found a 36-year-old Pontiac man who had been shot.

They began administering life-saving aid. The man was then taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The investigation is ongoing. Authorities are in the process of notifying the victim’s family.

The suspect, a 41-year-old Waterford Township man, was arrested in Farmington Hills on Saturday afternoon.

According to the sheriff’s office, the case is expected to be turned over to the prosecutor’s office on Monday.
