A 71-year-old disabled veteran was struck and killed by a vehicle in Oak Park early Saturday morning.
The incident occurred at 5:20 a.m. on West Nine Mile Road near Harding Street.

When officers arrived at the scene, they attempted lifesaving measures.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the man, who was in a wheelchair, was in the roadway when he was struck by a dark-colored sedan, likely a Kia or Hyundai, traveling eastbound.
Officers are searching for the driver involved in the crash.
The Oak Park Public Safety Investigations and Detective Bureau, along with the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Reconstruction Team, are conducting a full investigation.
