Here’s when more snow will move across Metro Detroit on Wednesday

Refreeze remains a concern for evening commute

Snow showers are expected to move through Metro Detroit again on Wednesday (Dec. 10) afternoon. (WDIV)

Snow is expected to return to Metro Detroit Wednesday afternoon, raising concerns about a refreeze and icy roads during the evening commute.

On Tuesday evening, snow moved through Metro Detroit and continued overnight, changing over to a rain/snow mix for parts of the region early Wednesday.

An area of low pressure is bringing just enough warm air in some places, which prompted the change to the rain/snow mix this morning. The rain/snow line is now at I-696.

Snow returns Wednesday afternoon

Snow is expected to hit Metro Detroit again at around noon on Wednesday, and a few hours of light snow are possible.

Refreeze concerns

As temperatures fall below the freezing mark, we are concerned for a refreeze situation this afternoon and into the evening commute tonight.

Untreated surfaces will become icy fast.
