Eaton County woman rescued from subzero temperatures after car gets stuck in snow
A 43-year-old Michigan woman is happy to be alive after her car got stuck in the snow amid subzero temperatures this week. According to Eaton County Sheriff Tom Reich, the woman was leaving work early Tuesday morning when her Ford Blazer got stuck. Because the snow was so high, police officers had to use the assistance of nearly the entire community to help the woman. Ad“(It was) with the help of Michigan State Police, the deputy sheriff at Eaton County Sheriff’s Office, as well as Grand Ledge Fire and their EMS, the Eaton County Road Commission’s office as well as a landscape business,” Reich said. Michigan officials are asking residents to remain patient and to confirm their vaccination appointments before heading out in the cold weather. Moderna COVID vaccine shipments were also affected, with no shipments coming out of the Memphis McKesson distribution center on Feb. 15, 16 or 17 due to the weather. Sunday Night Snow Turns into Bigger Monday Night Snow
The first storm really isn’t a storm…it’s an upper level disturbance that brought our Sunday night snow. Accordingly, the National Weather Service will end the Winter Weather Advisory at noon. A bigger storm heading this way from Texas will redevelop snow Monday evening, which will become heavy at times Monday night before winding down Tuesday morning. It is likely that the National Weather Service will issue a Winter Storm Warning for most of us after the advisory expires.
