Michigan man busted with 2+ pounds of fentanyl, thousands of pills

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – A 29-year-old man from Battle Creek will spend a decade in federal prison on fentanyl charges.

According to authorities, Nazzarie Acoy Carmouche-Heath’s home was searched in March, leading to the seizure of more than two pounds of fentanyl, two guns, thousands of dollars in cash and other drug-related paraphernalia.

Police reportedly found nearly 5,000 pills that were made to look like oxycodone, but were actually made of fentanyl.

Carmouche-Heath allegedly admitted that he had the fentanyl and intended to sell it. He pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute in August.

Carmouche-Heath was sentenced Friday, Dec. 12, to 10 years in federal prison.
