Fans meet Detroit Lions player while donating winter gear for kids He says giving back is something near and dear to his heart
DETROIT – Detroit Lions fans got a chance to meet a player, all while supporting kids in need this holiday season.
The group “Driven by Growth Detroit” hosted its second annual winter gear drive, with help from linebacker Derrick Barnes .
Attendees were encouraged to donate new winter clothing—coats, hats, gloves, and scarves for local kids.
Some of the players ' cleats worn during the “My Cause My Cleats” campaign were also on display.
Barnes wore cleats from a DBG student.
He says giving back is something near and dear to his heart.
