Firefighter injured as crews battle fire at Southgate motel

SOUTHGATE, Mich. – A firefighter was injured as crews battled a fire at a motel in Southgate on Monday morning.

Crews responded to the fire at the Motel 6 at 18777 Northline Road early on Monday, Dec. 29, 2025.

Just after 8 a.m., a firefighter was injured and taken to the hospital.

Someone at the scene told Local 4 crews that the bells started ringing and a woman was knocking on everyone’s doors to get outside.

No other details about the fire, including the cause, have been released at this time.
