There is enough lingering surface moisture and light winds around to support fog in areas that have had clouds clear out, several areas across Metro Detroit has dense fog that will likely stick around until 8AM. Winds increasing toward sunrise should help dissipate the fog by mid-morning.
It will be very mild today as temperatures rise into the 50s. In fact, we will continue to rise into the overnight. By Friday morning, our temperatures will possibly be in the upper 50s, close to 60. That will break the current record high for tomorrow’s date, 55 degrees in 1949. Dry through much of the day today, but rain returns this evening through Friday morning.
A storm system will bring the potential for gusty winds and wintry precipitation this weekend. Rain changes to a mix late on Saturday. As temperatures fall overnight plus some lake enhancement, snow showers late Saturday into Sunday could bring up to a couple inches of snow. The best chance for greater amounts is closer to the Tri-Cities region. Windier end to the weekend with gusts around 35 mph on Sunday.
