Forecast amounts remain subject to some fluctuations depending on the storm’s exact track, but current projections call for several inches of snow across Southeast Michigan. (WDIV)
We are expecting another widespread accumulating snow, with some places seeing significant snowfall totals by the time we get to late Sunday night and early on Monday morning.
This is due to a winter storm affecting the eastern two-thirds of the United States.
Snowfall will intensify Sunday afternoon through late Sunday night, which is when most accumulation will occur.
Here’s the expected snowfall by late Sunday night and early Monday morning:
Along and south of I-696 (Wayne, Washtenaw, Lenawee, and Monroe counties): 4 to 6 inches, possibly 5 to 7 inches. Winter Weather Advisories are in effect, with a Winter Storm Warning for Monroe County.
North of I-696 to south of I-69: 3 to 5 inches, potentially 4 to 6 inches, especially in Oakland, Washtenaw, and Macomb counties. Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect through late Sunday night.
North of I-69: 2 to 4 inches, with up to 5 inches possible. No active advisories for Genesee and Lapeer counties, but Sanilac County could see additional snowfall late Sunday night into Monday morning due to lake-effect snow.
Snow will continue Sunday night into early Monday as a northwesterly flow moves in, possibly adding light accumulation on top of Sunday’s totals.
