Metro Detroit weather: The best of the week before big changes
Good Thursday morning! We have had this trend of harmless high clouds streaking across the Michigan skies and that trend continues today. We have a mix of clear to partly cloudy skies with temperatures in the middle 40s to near 50 degrees for anyone heading out and about early for that walk to work or the simple walk to the car. These clouds are coming from bigger storms to our west, but they will produce no wet weather for us here in Metro Detroit both this morning and this afternoon.
Metro Detroit weather: Tracking more rain and snowflakes
Good Wednesday morning! We have had a few more significant rain showers move through Metro Detroit overnight with a few areas possibly seeing snowflakes trying to stick to grassy areas. Most of us are only seeing liquid precipitation. Temperatures are in the upper 30s with gusty winds creating tough wind chills in the upper 20s to low 30s and the need for a hat and gloves if you have to be out in it. There will be a few showers as we approach sunrise, so the wet roadways will slow down your drive as you get going on a Wednesday with the umbrella by your side. There’s not much good news in these cool temps and blustery conditions, but we also expect fewer showers throughout the day today.
Metro Detroit weather: Soaring to the 70s before rain
It is a trouble-free start to your Tuesday here in Metro Detroit which is to say it’s a good morning. Skies are mostly clear with temperatures in the low to middle 40s and a few of those usual suburbs will dip quickly into the upper 30s with a little patchy fog. Those spots are certainly the exception and not the rule. You will want that light jacket this morning, but you can also dress for a late summer kind of day today with the highest of our weekly highs on tap.
Buckle Up! Thursday’s weather is a roller coaster
It is not as cold out there this morning with Metro Detroit temperatures in the upper 40s to low 50s as you walk the dog or start heading to work or school. Conditions are dry and it is milder thanks to the warming here all week plus the addition of some cloud cover which prevents cooling during the overnight. We will have some pesky clouds coming and going most of the day with rain expected here later tonight. So, you won’t need that umbrella unless you plan on being away from home all day and all night. Allow me to explain...
Metro Detroit weather: Flirting with freezing before warming to 70 degrees
We have many suburbs flirting with freezing temperatures early this morning around Metro Detroit without any Frost Advisories. Good Tuesday morning! Obviously, we will see some patchy frost again this morning the farther away you are from Detroit. Areas within 20 to 30 miles of downtown will stay in the upper 30s to lower 40s under partly cloudy to mostly clear skies. It almost goes without saying that in addition to patchy frost, we will see some patchy fog in the usual spots, just a forewarning for anyone traveling north or heading west on I-94 or I-96 west of I-275.
Impact of Hurricane Ian could interrupt your weekend forecast in Metro Detroit -- What to expect
As I write this, Hurricane Ian is making its second landfall in two days, with the South Carolina coast bearing the brunt. As the storm progresses up the east coast, we’ll be on the fringe of its moisture shield, so expect our mostly clear skies Friday evening to become partly cloudy on Saturday.
Metro Detroit weather: Tracking summer heat Friday, rain chances this weekend
Some wildfire smoke out west created clouds here yesterday that stalled temperatures only briefly because we expect to warm up nicely today. Good Finally Friday morning! Temperatures are in the middle and upper 50s as you step out just about anywhere here in Metro Detroit under mostly clear skies. Watch out for that pesky patchy fog which has presented itself again reducing visibility in spots as you hit the road early on this final day of the work and school week. A warm front is working over our area setting us up for a nice little warm up around Pure Michigan today.
Metro Detroit weather: Tracking showers and the sun’s return
Early morning showers are surrounding Metro Detroit with most of the moisture falling south and east of Detroit as we get going on this Tuesday. Skies are mostly cloudy with temperatures in the middle 50s as you head out and about this morning. A couple of nuisance showers may slow your roll as we keep in mind how badly the rain is needed. You can give our radar a quick look before you hit the road or pound the pavement on the 4 Warn Weather App. It will show you where the showers are and which direction they are headed. The rain will not be the big weather story of the day as this slow moving storm does exit our area today.
Metro Detroit weather: A big weekend with rain nearby
We have to take the good with the bad and today is another tally on the good side making for a pretty nice weather week overall here in Metro Detroit. Good Finally Friday morning! We are waking up with more of that pleasant and cooler air keeping temperatures in the middle 50s outside your door prior to sunrise under mostly clear skies. The one minor weather nuisance this morning is that patchy fog like we’ve seen the last couple of mornings so just watch out in those rural and hilly areas all around and take it easy. If you plan on being out all day, you may need a light jacket or sweatshirt this morning but you’ll be able to rock those shorts as we warm up today.
Metro Detroit weather: A Labor Day struggle for holiday showers
It is mostly dry early on this Monday and Happy Labor Day! A stationary front is wobbling around just south of Metro Detroit which will keep a chance for a few showers around this morning although Exact Track Radar is showing no significant signs of showers. It looks like our skies will stay mostly cloudy most of the day including heading out your door early with temperatures in the lower to middle 60s and some spotty drizzle.
Metro Detroit weather: Nice stretch continues
September is the beginning of Meteorological Fall because breaking seasons down into three specific months make it easier to keep weather and climate records. The Autumnal Equinox is still three weeks away which means we are not officially done with summer yet. It feels every bit like a late summer morning out there with Metro Detroit temps in the upper 50s to low 60s on this Thursday under mostly clear skies and dry conditions if you’re heading out for a light morning jog or heading into the old workplace.
Metro Detroit weather: A nice lull before holiday weekend
It’s quite normal for Mother Nature to deliver a little pleasure after we have felt the pain of her wrath. The cooler air following the Monday storms is making for some great sleeping weather with the windows open the next few nights if you’re into that sort of thing. Temperatures are in the upper 50s for those of you are heading out and about before the sun rises over Metro Detroit. We will then warm into the lower 60s for the rest of the morning. Watch out for some patchy fog, especially in rural and hilly areas.
