Man to spend life in jail for Oakland County shooting that killed 2 Suspect Ricco Hicks remains at large

HAZEL PARK, Mich. – A 34-year-old man from Detroit will spend the rest of his life behind bars for the murder of two men in Hazel Park.
Eddie Matthews and Nathan Jacobs were in the parking lot of a banquet hall during a memorial service in January 2022 when a group of men approached and fired into the car. They died at the scene .
Keko Martin was convicted in 2025 of two counts of first-degree murder , two counts of conspiracy to commit murder and four counts of felony firearm.
On Tuesday, Feb. 3, Martin was sentenced to life in jail.
A second suspect, Ricco Hicks, has not yet been arrested and remains a wanted fugitive .
