Suspect arrested after man shot, seriously injured on city’s west side

DETROIT – Detroit police said the suspect who shot a man, leaving him seriously injured, on the city’s west side Tuesday has been arrested.

Police said the suspect fired shots into a 20-year-old man’s car in the area of Puritan and Prevost on March 3 just before 1 p.m., striking him and seriously injuring him.

According to authorities, three children, ages 10, 1-year-old and 7 months old, were inside the car at the time of the shooting. They were not injured.

The 20-year-old drove to a business in the 15800 block of W McNichols, where medics responded and took him to the hospital. He is in critical condition.

Police released photos of the suspect following the shooting. On March 4, Detroit police said the suspect has been arrested.
