OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – A 22-year-old Troy Man will spend more than a decade behind bars for shooting a coworker at a Troy Corewell Hospital parking garage.

The shooting happened just after 7 a.m. on March 20, 2025, in the parking garage of Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital. The shooting was called in as an active shooter situation, and a warning was sent to staff telling them to “run, hide, fight.”

The hospital went into lockdown.

Robert Paljusevic allegedly fired five shots at a coworker, striking him twice in the arm, according to court and police accounts. The victim, identified in reports as a 25-year-old Troy man, was treated at the hospital for his injuries.

Paljusevic was arrested at a home in Macomb County shortly after the shooting happened.

Paljusevic was charged with assault with intent to murder, felony firearm and carrying a concealed weapon.

On Feb. 10, 2026, Paljusevic pleaded no contest to his charges.

On Tuesday, March 17, he was sentenced to 11-50 years in the Michigan Department of Corrections. Paljusevic was also ordered to pay $33,000 in restitution.
