Ferndale middle school robotics team to head to World Championship after back-to-back state titles
Team ranks among world’s best with top competition scores

FERNDALE, Mich. – The Giggle Pickles, a team of middle school innovators from Ferndale Middle School, secured an invitation to the FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship in Houston in April 2026.
It came after the Giggle Pickles won the Michigan State Championship for the second consecutive year, taking titles in 2024 and 2025.

Ranked sixth in the world this season, the team holds four of the top 10 world-record scores. The World Championship will match the Giggle Pickles against teams from more than 30 countries, including high school squads that regularly compete at the event.
