Affordable housing project for LGBTQ+ elders coming Michigan city

FERNDALE, MI – An affordable housing project for LGBTQ+ elders is expected to open in southeast Michigan next spring. The Raymond E. Shephard House, 503 E. 9 Mile Road in Ferndale, will be a new four-story affordable housing apartment complex, according to a state news release. The project by Full Circle Communities includes demolishing vacant structures and mitigating pollution from previous uses of the site. In addition, the city is providing tax incentives, which provides the project about $3.5 million in savings over 40 years. The Ferndale Housing Commission has committed to providing eight Section 8 project-based vouchers for the project, which provides rental assistance to low-income households.

The Pilots had an opportunity to go ahead on a free throw, but they missed it, and from that point forward, it was all Catholic Central.
