Grosse Pointe North High School graduate Jamie Ding saw his 31-game winning run on “Jeopardy!” come to an end Monday night, falling to fellow contestant Greg Shahade.

Jamie Ding, a Metro Detroit native, entered the game on the verge of moving into fourth place on the show’s all-time consecutive wins list.

Instead, he finishes fifth in that category and fifth in regular-season winnings.

Ding, 33, wrapped up his run with $901,615, including $19,010 earned in his final appearance.

His 31 victories place him among the most successful contestants in the show’s history.

Ding completed his studies a year early and competed nationally in spelling, geography, and math during middle school.
