District Public School District leaders urged families to secure cannabis-infused products and to speak with their children about the risks of consuming any food or candy that is not purchased directly by them or brought from home.

“We continue to remind all families to secure their edibles and to have conversations with their children,” DPSCD officials said in a statement.

The incident comes amid growing concerns about youth exposure to marijuana edibles since legalization.

Officials said the investigation is ongoing.
