Man accused of harassing Oakland County official found guilty

Marc Aisen found guilty on 2 charges

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The man accused of harassing a Bloomfield Township official over email has been found guilty.

A jury in Oakland County’s Sixth Circuit found Marc William Aisen, 50, guilty of Using a Computer to Commit a Crime and Unlawful Posting of Messages.

Aisen first began emailing Bloomfield treasurer Micheal Schostak in July 2023.

He also made baseless child sexual exploitation accusations against a Boston-based Jewish organization, according to officials.

After he didn’t receive a response, Aisen began emailing other officials, as well as the victim’s ex-wife, and posted to message boards, accusing him of covering up the abuse.

Aisen emailed nearly 100 people, including the victims’ children’s school to accuse him of covering up abuse and claiming he was affiliated with Hamas.

The jury in Oakland County’s Sixth Circuit unanimously concluded that Aisen’s behavior was not free speech. They determined he crossed the line into criminal harassment.

Using a Computer to Commit a Crime is punishable by up to four years in prison and/or a $5,000 fine.

Unlawful Posting of Messages is punishable by up to two years in prison and/or a $5,000 fine.
