DETROIT – A 17-year-old was shot, and a 58-year-old man is in custody following an altercation on Detroit’s west side.
The incident occurred on Tuesday (May 12) in the 9300 block of Pierson Street.

According to the Detroit Police Department, the incident occurred after a confrontation between the teen and the older man escalated. Investigators said the 58-year-old man shot the teenager during the altercation.
Police said the teen was taken to a Metro Detroit hospital for medical treatment and was listed in stable condition.
Officials said the 58-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene.
