OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – The man accused of exposing himself to a 14-year-old girl at a shopping center in Oakland County pleaded no contest.
Kruze Detorrian Jelks, 35, of Pontiac, has been charged with one count of aggravated indecent exposure, which is a two-year misdemeanor.
According to Bloomfield Township police, in a press release sent in March, officers responded to the Bloomfield Plaza at the southwest corner of Maple and Telegraph roads on Feb. 17 after receiving a report that a man in a blue Ford F-150 had exposed himself to a 14-year-old.
The teen told police that “the suspect was seated inside the F-150 masturbating and his genitals were exposed.”
After that, police said the teen contacted her older sister, who was inside a nearby business.
When her sister walked toward the F-150, Jelks allegedly drove off while still masturbating.
Using video surveillance from businesses and a partial license plate the teen was able to provide, police identified a suspect vehicle, and the department’s investigations unit identified Jelks as the suspect.
They also discovered that Jelks was on parole for first-degree criminal sexual conduct and was wearing a tether.
The tether placed him in the area at the time of the indecent exposure incident.
On May 18, Jelks pleaded no contest to his charge. He is scheduled to be sentenced on July 6 at 10 a.m.
