WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – The southbound lanes of Southfield Freeway at I-96 have reopened following a shooting in Wayne County.
The incident occurred on Thursday (May 21) near Joy Road along M-39 around 9:46 p.m., per Michigan State Police.

Police have not released details about possible victims, suspects, or what led to the shooting, which led to the closure, lasting about two hours.
MSP said the roadway will be reopened as soon as the investigation allows.
