A lot of parents worry about the choices their teens are making, especially after some of the large “teen takeover” events we’ve seen recently across Metro Detroit.
City leaders say Oakland County deputies saturated downtown Pontiac Friday night after one gathering was advertised online.
No arrests were made, but police talked to some of the kids about making good decisions.
In a social media video that went viral last month, a group of teens was seen chasing and attacking a man in Detroit. It appeared they’re trying to rip the chain off his neck as they chase him down.
In April, videos showed hundreds of teens filling the streets. One man stepped in to break up a fight. And inside the store “Culture,” dozens of teens gathered to hang out away from the chaos.
Now, a Detroit attorney is hosting a free event to help parents and teens talk about peer pressure, social media, and staying out of trouble.
Renette Jackson, author of “Act Like a Teen, Think Like a Lawyer,” joined Local 4 Live to talk more about it.
