Grosse Ile delivery driver found sleeping behind the wheel with heroin

GROSSE ILE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A sleeping delivery driver was taken into custody in Grosse Ile after reportedly being caught with heroin.

Police said they were notified of suspicious activity by a resident and found the driver sleeping behind the wheel of their running vehicle on Waterway Drive, Wednesday, May 27.

In addition to packages waiting to be delivered, officers said they found what they believed to be heroin inside the vehicle.

The driver was taken into custody and charges are pending.

Overnight, officers delivered the remaining packages to their intended destinations.
