Family member accused of intentionally overdosing hospice patient in Michigan home

ADRIAN, Mich. – A person was arrested for allegedly intentionally overdosing a family member in hospice.

Adrian police said officers responded to a home on June 8 at around 1:30 p.m. for a reported civil problem or unwanted subject. When they arrived, officers spoke with several witnesses and learned a hospice patient was dead in the home.

Witnesses told police that the hospice patient was intentionally given an overdose of medication by a family member.

After further investigation, police arrested a family member, and they were lodged at the Lenawee County Jail on a charge of open murder.

Details on the person arrested have not yet been released.

The case was sent to the Lenawee County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
