Manuel Sarkis Bardakjian, 40, was arrested on Saturday, June 6, following an investigation by the Livonia Police Department.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged the 40-year-old man in connection with two attempted home invasion incidents targeting a 31-year-old woman, a 33-year-old man, and a 77-year-old man.

The first incident:

On May 13, 2026, at approximately 10:02 a.m., prosecutors allege Bardakjian forced his way into the yard of a home in the 37000 block of Bristol Drive, wearing a white hazmat suit.

When the 31-year-old woman who lived there confronted him, prosecutors allege he physically assaulted her before running away.

Her father, Bill Williams, said his daughter, Victoria, handled the terrifying encounter with remarkable composure.

“I’m very proud of her,” Williams said. “She got up and got in the garage with the phone held to her ear, with 911. She went detail by detail, telling them what he was wearing, where he was going.”

Williams said she was grabbed by the neck and collar as the suspect tried to push past her to flee.

The second incident:

Less than 24 hours later, on May 14, 2026, at approximately 3:27 p.m., prosecutors allege Bardakjian returned, this time to a home in the 37000 block of Bloomfield Drive.

The 77-year-old homeowner was in his backyard when Bardakjian allegedly forced his way into the yard, again wearing a white hazmat suit, and pointed a firearm at him.

The man escaped and ran across the street to a neighbor’s home. Prosecutors allege Bardakjian then threatened to shoot both victims before fleeing the scene.

A neighbor — not a stranger

What makes the case even more unsettling for residents is that Bardakjian is not an outsider.

Records show he lives just blocks from the first victim and across the street from the second.

“The fact that it’s a couple blocks from us is scary enough,” Williams said. “But to imagine that he would actually go after a neighbor right across the street — it’s absolutely crazy.”

Bardakjian faces the following charges:

  • Attempted Home Invasion – Second Degree
  • Assault and Battery
  • Felonious Assault
  • Felony Firearm

He pleaded not guilty. He was arraigned in 16th District Court and received a $250,000 cash/surety bond.

Bardakjian is also ordered to remain on house arrest with a GPS tether and is prohibited from possessing firearms or contacting witnesses.

A Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for June 18.

Bardakjian’s defense attorney, Drew Norton, told the court Bardakjian is married with children, has no prior criminal record, and has been on disability after a car accident a year ago left him with a head injury and two broken wrists.

“The year has been extremely difficult,” Norton said, adding that family members say Bardakjian “has been different” since the accident and that the alleged behavior “is out of character.”

Norton said his client is “struggling on a couple of fronts” and needs to be released to get the help he needs.
