It happened Friday, June 12, in Genesee County.

Authorities said one raccoon had its head stuck in the center of the metal sewer grate and the other was trapped beneath it.

With the help of Genesee County Animal Care, the two raccoons were rescued safely and returned to the wild.

It’s not the first time this has happened in Southeast Michigan.
