DETROIT – A Detroit man is facing multiple charges for allegedly injuring a man in a drive-by shooting.
Kim Wright, Jr., 28, was charged with assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to do great bodily harm, discharge of a firearm in or at a building, discharge of a firearm from a motor vehicle, and possession of a firearm. He was also charged with five counts of felony firearm.
The shooting happened in the 11000 block of Whithorn Street just after 7 p.m. on July 21.
According to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, Wright shot a 48-year-old Detroit man from his car and left the scene.
The 48-year-old man was taken to a local hospital for treatment. After an investigation, Wright was arrested on July 23.
Wright was arraigned in court on July 30 and was given a $75,000 bond. He is required to wear a GPS tether with a curfew of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
A bond redetermination hearing is set for Aug. 3 at 9 a.m., and a probable cause conference is scheduled for Aug. 6 at 8:30 a.m.
